Antony White/Facts On File
My role in the exhaustive Atlas of Western Art History of John Steer and Antony White, published in 1994 by Facts On File was mainly that of cartographic proof-reader. Liaising with Antony White, I compared the content of the work of the cartographers with the authors’ briefs concerning data of art history on the one hand, and with geographical accuracy on the other, then gave instruction for corrections when identified a necessity. I also contributed, however, to the atlas by compiling some of its more general historical maps, i.e. those not concerned specifically with details of art history only, and corrected the inaccurate frontier lines of others.
