Historical Institute of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences: History of Hungary
The Historical Institute of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences embarked on an ambitious project in 1974. The plan was to publish an exhaustive history of Hungary in ten volumes. My role was to research for and compile the historical maps of the five volumes that were prepared before I left the country. I liaised with the editors of each volume. At times I found the necessary sources, at other times they directed me to archives, where I completed the necessary research. I compiled numerous maps on this basis that dealt with political, ethnographic, economic and sociological issues in an historical context. They were completed by others following my instructions.
