Lord Sumption’s history of the Hundred Years’ War
Faber already published two volumes of Jonathan Sumption’s yet to be completed major work by the time they involved me with the preparation of the altogether 58 black and white maps for Volumes 3 and 4 published in 2009 and 2015. My task in this case was in the main that of the cartographer. There were maps – typically those involving depiction of frontiers/territorial extent – which I have also compiled, albeit corrected at times by Lord Sumption when he disagreed with the source I relied on. I completed recently 22 maps for Volume 5. This last volume of Lord Sumption’s work is to appear in 2023.
